1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Arcopolis ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, don't use the Platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and anyone else who accesses Arcopolis.

2. What Arcopolis Is

Arcopolis is the definitive record of who built the world. A map-based platform where professionals claim credit for their work, and where anyone serious about the built environment can contribute perspective.

Arcopolis is not a licensing body, certification authority, or professional registry. Nothing on the Platform constitutes professional verification, endorsement, or credentialing of any individual or firm.

3. Accounts & Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

You're responsible for your account credentials and everything that happens under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

One account per person. Duplicate or fraudulent accounts are grounds for termination.

4. User Content

4.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of everything you post - credits, critiques, photos, and any other submissions ("User Content").

4.2 License to Arcopolis

By posting User Content, you grant Arcopolis a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, modify, distribute, and store your content in connection with operating and improving the Platform - including on maps, in search results, in previews shared by other users, and in future features.

This doesn't affect your ownership. You can delete your content at any time, subject to retention requirements described in our Privacy Policy.

4.3 Your Representations

By posting User Content, you represent that you have the right to share it and that it doesn't violate any applicable law or third-party rights, including copyright, privacy, or defamation.

5. Professional Credits

5.1 Accuracy

When you claim a credit, you're creating a permanent, public record of your contribution to a building. By claiming it, you represent that it's accurate - the discipline, phase, and role you specify reflect your actual contribution. Claiming credits for work you didn't do, or misrepresenting your role, is a violation of these Terms.

5.2 Arcopolis's Role

Arcopolis doesn't independently verify all credit claims. The Platform relies on user honesty and community accountability. A credit on Arcopolis is not verification, endorsement, or certification by Arcopolis.

5.3 Disputes

If you believe a credit is inaccurate, misleading, or fraudulent, report it through the Platform. Arcopolis reserves the right to remove, modify, or flag disputed credits at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

Arcopolis does not adjudicate authorship disputes between individuals, firms, or other parties.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Arcopolis to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent credits or attribution
• Harass, threaten, or target any individual or firm
• Post defamatory, obscene, or unlawful content
• Upload images or materials you don't have the right to share
• Manipulate endorsements through coordinated or inauthentic activity
• Scrape, crawl, or extract Platform data without written permission
• Interfere with the security or integrity of the Platform

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.

7. Critiques & Opinions

Arcopolis is built for thoughtful critique of the built environment. Content posted by users - including critiques, observations, and assessments - reflects the views of individual users, not Arcopolis.

Arcopolis does not endorse any opinion expressed on the Platform. Users are solely responsible for the content they post, including any legal consequences arising from it.

Opinion and critique, clearly expressed as such, is a protected form of expression. Be honest, specific, and grounded.

8. Content Moderation & Removal

Arcopolis reserves the right to remove, hide, or modify any User Content at its sole discretion - including content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or that we determine harmful to the Platform or its community.

Use the reporting tools to flag content that doesn't belong. We review all reports and act where appropriate, though we can't guarantee a specific response time or outcome.

Users who repeatedly violate these Terms may have their accounts suspended or permanently terminated.

9. Endorsements

Endorsements reflect the opinions of individual users. They're a social signal, not a professional certification - and not verification of any credit claim. Arcopolis makes no representation as to the accuracy or reliability of any endorsement.

10. Privacy

Your use of Arcopolis is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described there.

11. Intellectual Property

All platform design, branding, software, and proprietary content - including the Arcopolis name, logo, and underlying technology - are owned by Arcopolis or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you the right to use Arcopolis's intellectual property without prior written permission.

12. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Arcopolis does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any content on the Platform - including credits, building information, or user commentary.

You rely on information from Arcopolis at your own risk. Nothing on the Platform constitutes professional, legal, architectural, or engineering advice.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arcopolis and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of - or inability to use - the Platform.

Arcopolis's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Arcopolis in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

14. Termination

Arcopolis reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Termination does not automatically remove content you've posted - see our Privacy Policy for data retention details.

15. Changes to Terms

Arcopolis may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For material changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Your State], without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in [Your State/City].
